23/11: R.I.P Jeremy Slate
We are sadden to hear our good friend, Jeremy Slate, has passed away November 18th. He was kind enough to invite us over to his house for a on camera interview for our up coming THE DEAD PIT DVD back in May, and also did a audio commentary with director Brett Leonard and producer Gimel Everett for THE DEAD PIT as well. He had many fun stories to tell about his career and the films he starred in, and also was happy to see during the commentary that we had the infamous open brain surgery scene that he never saw in the old R rated cut!
He was very generous, and was very open and friendly. We spoke to him last about two month ago, he called us asking how the DVD is coming along, and spoke about Andrew Prine, who was coming to visit him for dinner. His companion, Joan Benedict, was such a sweetheart, she was kind enough for us to hold Rod Steiger's Oscar (it weighted alot!).
Was planning on calling him to wish him happy holidays, it saddens us that we can't show him how the DVD is coming along. We will dedicate the DVD release to this great talent, and a sweetheart of a man.
We will miss you Jeremy, thanks for the memories and thank you for participating on our DVD. Thanks.
Bill
